From Baby Botox to Daddy Do-Overs, the Aesthetic Society Predicts the Hottest Trends for 2020

Patients will also realize that injectable treatments enhance but do not replace surgical treatments for the aging face.

The Aesthetic Society predicts that 2020 will usher in the return of the facelift and the rise of the daddy do-over, i.e the male counterpart to the mommy makeover

“2020 promises to be a landmark year for aesthetic plastic surgery with innovations in nonsurgical procedures, refinements in established surgical procedures and a new generation entering the market,” says Charles H. Thorne, MD, President of The Aesthetic Society, in a news release. Dr. Thorne is also chairman of the department of plastic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City.

The Aesthetic Society also predicts a windfall of innovation among non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments as well as growing interest in “baby Botox” or microinjections of a neurotoxin to achieve a more natural, subtle look.

What’s more,  Generation Z, people born in the late 1990s and early 2000s, will seek cosmetic surgery in growing numbers and they will do so earlier in life as a preventative measure and in non-surgical ways. More social channels may ban plastic surgery filter apps yet, Gen Z will continue to favor social media to find a plastic surgeon and research aesthetic procedures.
