Align Technology launches advanced digital dentistry solution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Align Technology showcased its commitment to advancing digital dentistry in the region by introducing iTero Element 2 scanner during the 14th Saudi Orthodontic Society Conference.

Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN), a global medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of the Invisalign system, the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, and iTero intraoral scanners and services, announced the availability of its iTero Element 2 intraoral scanner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Align showcased the scanner at the 14th Saudi Orthodontic Society Conference, held in As Sahafah, Riyadh.

Over the course of the annual conference, Align Technology welcomed visitors, partners, and industry experts to their stand for demonstrations of the iTero Element 2 intraoral scanner and the Invisalign system, which system complement each other for treatment planning and provide an integrated digital platform to help dental professionals grow their practice.

Markus Sebastian, Align Technology Senior Vice President, Managing Director EMEA, said: “Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030 four years ago, the Kingdom has been taking active steps to drive digital transformation across the region. As doctors continue to grow their practices in the Kingdom and want their practices to become more digital, they need powerful technology that will benefit them as well as their patients. Our state-of-the-art iTero Element 2 scanner is a game-changer, bringing exceptional digital competencies that enable dental professionals to achieve superior results in their practices.”

The iTero Element 2 scanner was engineered for greater performance with 2X faster start-up* and 25% faster scan processing, compared to the iTero Element scanner**. The scanner provides doctors with high-definition colour imaging precision, intuitive chairside visualisation and patient communication tools that enable efficient workflows for a full range of case assessment, restorative and orthodontic treatments.

With its increased digital capabilities and convenience, the iTero family of scanners are more than digital impression-taking devices. Their unique features, such as iTero TimeLapse technology, enable dentists and orthodontists to track and show patients how their teeth have moved over time and how gingival recession is progressing. This enablesdoctors to provide their patients with a holistic understanding of their dentition, visualise treatment outcome, make real-time adjustments to simulations and easily project corrections and extractions.

The iTero Element 2 scanner restorative workflows include crowns, bridges, implant abutments, onlays, inlays and veneers. The iTero Element 2 scanner also allows greater mobility from practice to practice, without the need to plug in for power or reboot with its lithium-ion battery***.

The iTero Element 2 is now available in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. For more information, visit http://www.itero.com/products/itero_element_two.

*Based on comparison of 40 start up times between each: iTero Element and iTero Element 2.

**Based on comparison of 40 Invisalign scans and 40 restorative scans with 3 prep teeth processed by each: iTero Element and iTero Element 2.

*** With a fully charged battery, the user can scan for 30 minutes without having to plug in for power.
